Abstract
Recycling textile waste presents a double opportunity in addressing environmental concerns and unlocking new income‑generating ventures. The increasing awareness of environmental sustainability and the drive towards sustainable practices has sparked a growing interest in exploring innovative solutions for reducing the waste that comes from the textile industry, used and discarded clothing. The market demand for eco-friendly and socially responsible products are growing rapidly, driving the need for innovative and sustainable materials that will divert from the usual filling of lands with textile waste. This study delves into the entrepreneurial opportunities presented by the recycling and repurposing of textile waste, aiming to shed light on the potential for sustainable business ventures and promoting environmental sustainability, job creation and economic development in Ado Ekiti. It also identifies potential ventures, and explores insights from successful initiatives across Nigeria.
